Bridgestone S02 pole position or not?

I have 7 & 9s Fuchs looking to get some 205/55 and 245/45.
Should I get the S0-2 Pole Positions or not?

Anyone have experience with these?

Second choice will probably be RE-730s.

ANYONE?

TIA

I've been told several times that the S02s wear out pretty quickly. Also on non Porsche cars.

So-2 do wear quickly and are currently old tech as far as tires go. Dunlop and Pirelli have been building newer tech tires for a few years in their 9000 and Rosso series tires respectively. Bridgestone has just issued their version in the So-3. These tires are expensive but they don't wear ou quickly and they all have great grip. As a result imo they are worth the extra money.

I've been runnig SO2's just over 2 years and 10,000 miles on my 79 930 (7&9 inch Fuchs). They've been to 5 DE weekends and look to have 1/2-3/8 tread wear left. I am gentle on throttle around town so backs are not too far ahead of fronts. Car has been aligned once since install and tires rebalanced (thought I flat spotted right front threshold braking http://www.pelicanparts.com/ultimate/smile.gif ). Two days of those DE's were wet. The instructor couldn't believe the grip. Now this 930 understeers like crazy, but I am confident at the break away point in traction.

Previously had Michelin Sports on this car and Toyo Proxes on the Carrera I owned. I would definitely buy the Bridgestones again. Think I paid $800 for all four.

John,

What tire sizes and pressures are you running?

I have the 7 & 9 fuchs too.

TIA
Nick
