Just wanted some advice and opinions about this situation I'm in. I have an 82 SC that is almost stock but has some minor modifications i.e. RSR front/rear bumbers, A/C removal, 16x9 Fuch rears, Wevo shifter etc. Problem is, these mods bump it higher in class for club racing -->> POC. I want to have a good foundation with a stock car and later go with a 3.6 conversion (but after having more experience with the car).
![]() Would you, A) Sell the car and start over with another 911 (starting to like the G50 97 Carrera), but no one is buying these days or B) Keep the car, fix the problems i.e. oil leaks, squeaky wheel bearings, 915 tranny rebuild. In summary, start with a new 87 carrera or stick with 82 SC and eventually go with a 3.6 conversion? ![]() ![]() |

I would get a car that is as close to what I wanted to run as possible.
But that is just me. As for cars not selling, some are. You would only have to sell one at a price that is in line with the market. |

My .02 cents worth. I would have the car I wanted and run in whatever class that car put me in. To me enjoying the car I really wanted is more important day to day.

Strictly speaking from a pure financial viewpoint, you would probably be better off selling and getting a finished car that is as close as possible to what you want. It is almost always cheaper to buy a finished car than to modify or restore an existing car with needs.
