SFI Rated Shoes for Wide Feet

No response on the racing forum...

I have wide, Flintstone shape feet. I usually have to wear 10EE shoes and prefer the ones made with a "Roomy Toebox".

I need to order some SFI rated shoes. The only ones that I have found that specifically address this are the Sparco "Race" shoes.

Anyone else have any luck in this situation? Some have mentioned Piloti.

I can find the Sparco's for about $125 delivered. Would rather not spend that much.

Thanks for the help.

Can give my .02 on Piloti size wise...I wear them daily as a tennis shoe and have been doing so since they came out a number of years ago.

I wear a 10D in dress shoes and find that a 10.5 Piloti in most of their styles fits well out of the box...

That said they only offer a couple of styles that are SFI approved to my knowledge. They are mostly making street versions for us enthusiasts.

I have no experince with Sparco.

Other folks at the track like some Oakley shoes.

$125.00 doesn't sound bad at all for the Sparco's. If you are going to be using them on the track and you end up needing the fire resistance...$125 will be VERY cheap.

A good friend of mine put his $$$$ custom fit Sparco suit to use a while back at mid-ohio...parameds cut it off of him...Bad Day!

For saftey equipment I just pay up for the good stuff.

Take care, Coop

That's no joke, Nike makes and markets a series of shoes specifically designed for the wider proportions of Native American feet.

That's Funny...I'm very partially American Indian...have wide feet across that area...almost always have to go 1/2 or full size bigger.

I also have the charachteristic large 'shovel' teeth too...never heard the foot thing.

I thought the joke went along the lines that Native Americans had long members and Pollacks had fat members and the guy's name was Black Bear Kowalski...

Back to the shoes.... I would guess there would be a limited Native Am market for racing shoes since most manufacturers seem to cater to the Euro crowd.

I ended up getting Piloti shoes. I normally wear a 10, or Euro 44. I ended up with a 10.5 or 44.5.
