Shipping Shocks/Struts Question
Hi folks,
This may be a stupid question but is it safe to ship shocks and strut inserts (gas bilstein for boges) via air. The parts are located in Florida and someone was going to bring them back to Canada for me. I wanted to make sure that the pressure on the plane wouldn't make them rupture or leak?

All modern jets have heated and pressurized cargo compartments. The max altitude your shocks will see is 8 thousand feet so yes, it's safe. The TSA, on the other hand might not like them in your carry on bags so you might be better off putting them in checked luggage. You can go to http://www.tsa.gov to check out their list of prohibited items just to be sure.

No issues. Had a set of revalved Bilsteins overnighted to me a few weeks ago.
