which bleeder valve for 87 carrera?
I'm installing speed bleeder valves in my 87.
I ordered part number PEL-SB8125LL for the fronts and PEL-SB7100 for the rears. The fronts fit fine. However, the rears are too small of a diameter and too fine of thread. I must admit I was a little lost trying to decipher which part number to get for which caliper. On the 87 Carrera, were the front and back bleeder valves the same thread diameter and pitch? Should I just order another set of the PEL-SB8125LL? Just checking to see if anyone else has experienced this. |

I just went through this last week - a real bummer when you have everything apart.
The ones that are supposed to be for the rear do not fit as you found out. I ordered another set of front ones and they fit just fine.

I checked my Pelican order and I found that I had ordered 2 pairs of the fronts and not the rear. I don't remember if it was an oversight or I read it somewhere, but they do fit fine.

Hey thanks guys. I appreciate the feedback. It looked like the same threads front and back on the existing calipers when I pulled them out, but I too, ordered a different type for the rears.
Ok, I'll order another set of the "front" type to use in back. Last edited by tsiegwart; 04-05-2009 at 10:13 AM.. |
