Question 911SC 1980 rough idle no power

I need some help!!!
Today I was cruising down the road. 60 Mph and shifted back from 5th to 4th for a curve. That's when it started. Backfiring, rough idle and no power. It starts right up but runs very rough and dies because of low rpm. If you press the accelerator it dies or backfires. I checked the spark plugs and they all were black. I replaced the vacuum lines, breather hoses last winter while I fixed the oil leaks. It was running fine until now.
Anyone with some suggestions?

Thanks for your help.

first, i would check the relay for the oxy computer. under the right seat, in front by the tunnel. if it's dead, the oxy computer won't work the frequency valve at the engine, and the car feels like it's dragging an anchor. also, the dome light fuse powers the relay.

Do you know the part number for this per chance?

The oxy sensor relay is - 821-951-253-M14. I can't see my car right now but that relay doesn't remind me of the one attached to the computer under passenger seat.

+1 on the fuel filter. Same symptoms, drove myself nuts before I realized I had a new one sitting on the shelf. 10 minutes later all was well. Tons of crap came out of the old one...
Just sayin'...

Today I checked the o2 relay and I had power to it but the relay it self was faulty. Replaced it and the car runs as before. Thanks for the tip. Saved me a lot of headaches and money.
