If cylinders were honed properly (good cross-hatch pattern) take it out and do a few runs as follows; not wide open throttle but steady pulls up through the gears .
Now get on a non-congested highway and in fourth or fifth, from 45 MPH, go full throttle, up to the speed limit 65 -70, then let off and let the compression of the engine drag you back down to 45 mph. Repeat several times. Do that, maybe half a dozen times over a few days and drive normally in the meantime. 100-200 miles, and you should be good to go racing or whatever.

Well, I've already 'drove it like I stole it', but I only have about 100 miles or so on it.
I think I have a leaky breather hose, as there is oil in the engine compartment under the oil tank filler neck. KT
