1999 911 Carrera 4 front CV boot substitute

Hi ,I am a VW AUDI guy and Just got my first job on a 911. I am in the process of replacing the water pump as well as the front cv boots. The questions I have are few. What is the cvaxel nut size on the front wheel? Is there a easy way to pop out the lower control arm to pop out cv joint and replace the boot right on the car, or do I have to remove the whole axel? Also the main problem and question I have is ..Is there a VW or AUDI cv joint that uses the same diameter cv boot? Im trying to not pay 120 dollars for a simple rubber boot just because its a porsche? Is there a difference in the boots? Im trying to find a cheap alternative to the OEM porsche boot. Thanks for any help I really appriciate it.

I wouldn't look for a CHEAP alternative on clients car( As I understand it is not your car, right?), 'cause there is no such thing. Saying goes " Cheap man pays twice";) Client should make decission on parts origin.
Unless you want to charge HIM 120$ for boot, that cost you 50$ and keep the diference:rolleyes: but would it be right?

No this lady is so difficult to deal wit and I told her they were 40 bucks for the pair as I saw on ebay.It turned out that the ebay item was for the rear axels not the front and she only gave me x amount of money for the parts. basically ill have to get more money out of her for this repair ,or try to find a suitable replacement like a GTI axel boot or A6 something? I just need to know the diameter of the boot i suppose to find a suitable match. This is nothing about me getting any money .Im trying to escape from having to ask for 200 more dollars money for 2/ 2 dollar pieces of rubber.

There is no "hard to deal customers". There is REALITY.
Say what is going to cost- actual amount+ labor and it is up to her to decide whether she wants job to be done or not. She does- she pays what it costs. She DOSEN'T - give car back and save your self from a trouble.
While you are looking for a replacement/cheap part you are waisting your time ( in case it is FREE , it is OK).

No brainer to me.
