Dents?
Well, my mint 911 finally got her first "beauty marks" the other day. I knew it was bound to happen.
My question is, has anyone ever had dents removed with near perfect success? I took the car to show the previous owner (where I bought the car from), and he said the dents (2) aren't that bad. They are over the rear right fender flare (non turbo arches). Anyways, he is sending over a guy with a dent puller to my house. How effective would this be, compared to me driving the car over 4 hours to a major city (Ottawa or Toronto), and having the car sit for weeks at a Porsche dealership while they do an exacting job I'm sure, but come out spending tons of bucks? The car is not concours, but making the car the way it was before the accident would be heaven. Any body repair stories would be greatly appreciated, as I nearly puked when I saw the damage to my baby. Thanks guys!

I'd take it to someone that can do paintless dent removal, to see what they thought of the dents. I know a few people that can work miracles with this method. It has progressed a long way in the last 10 years.
If the dents are too bad to be fixed in that fashion, I'd get the work done by the best paint and body man I could find, which may or may not be a Porsche dealer. It should be a weeks worth of work, or less. For what it's worth, there are probably 10 lousy paint/body shops for every good one, so choose carefully. JR |

+1 for paintless dent removal. I had this done to a Range Rover several years ago, and I was very happy with the results.
Good luck! Paul.

contact your local high end car dealership or european car repair shop and get a paintless dent removal guy recommendation from them. A good one can do amazing things and knows his limitations. I have seen some that dive in make things worse.

Where did you get paintless dent removal done? Was it at a Range Rover dealership or someplace else? For all I know, the previous owner is sending a guy over to my place today to pull the dents. These are small dents but dents that are noticeable nonetheless.
Any more body work stories from anyone else out there?

You really need a recommendation about a specific dent remover person. The best advice here is to use someone recommended by a fussy individual or dealer. Some of these fellows are real artists, some are not. You need the right one. My guy, who did a great job, told me he'd tried to teach his brother-in-law how to do it for months; the fellow never got it.
