What is the best way to jack up my car for engine refiting?
Obviously there is no motor in it right now and I don't think I am too comfortable putting the cars weight on the dangling transaxle... it's just hanging there. No, that can't be the right answer... Anyone got any ideas? I will go find the tallest jack stands I can find to get the rear end high enough to get the engine under when it comes time to reinstall the motor. But I don't know how I am going to get the car up in the air first. |

Lee,
Real simple ... floor jack under jack pad in factory jack socket. Raise one side 3", put a jack stand just inboard of the spring plate bushings' housings ... move the jack plate and jack to the other side. Repeat until the car is high enough. ------------------ Warren Hall 1973 911S Targa |
