I don't know about dipsticks specifically, but a lot of the parts on my '83 SC have 930. part numbers. It doesn't mean "can only be used on Turbos."

when changing oil, ive always added quarts per the manual and the dip stick has never read anything unusual when the job was done, so i assume it must be the same...just curious

So there ya go...it's not "a dipstick for a 930 Turbo," it's a dipstick for your SC that has a 930 p/n. I'd go out and look at mine, but I hate to disturb the cat sitting on the car cover.

I just took mine out to have a look because I recently bought it from the local Porsche dealer.
Part number stamped on the dip stick: 930.107.731.00 (my car is a 1978) If you search our hosts site you get these two options... 930-107-731-00-M100... Dipstick, 911 (1974-80) w/original oil level sender 930-107-731-01-M100... Dipstick, 911 (1974-80) w/late oil level sender, 911 (1981-89) What is the part number on yours? 1983 911SC - chiffon white/chocolate... It should be 930.107.731.01
