Hey guys' , I am in the market for a new or used carbon-fibre hood for a 1988' 930 car. There was a guy on this discussion board aprox. four months ago? whom was gonna make some? Does anyone have any intel. on this guy or where I can aquire a real nice one, and I have got body parts from GT racing before, and I think they offer them , But my own experience with the parts ,was that the fit/finish could have been better , and it really cost me at the body shop was all. With a hood especially , even know its not over a hot motor in our cars , It would be nearly imposible to get right, if its warped or like the bumpers were ,is all . thanks ; dave

a search might be faster than waiting the full 18 minutes between posts
many companies make such hoods - dunno which might have exactly what you want |

Dave, I hate to tell you, but not very many CF o FG parts are plug and play. They all take some fittage. GT actually has a good rep, so if you go further down the food chain......

I am NO stranger to fitting body parts , I just pay body shops these days. I bought a FG bumper years ago from Brad at BT? or something, in Ill. and it was a PERFECT fit ,to an original -undamaged , un-repaired 930, So I know its possible to be Perfect -fit, and can live with "close" , but brand new "Warped-Parts" , that there is NO way of fixing, other than ,''cutting-removing-and replacing'', with like- materials ,such as in the case of that front bumper I got for another un-repaired, un-damaged 930 , I am trying to stay clear of, especially in the case of a ''front-hood'' , ( a little bit harder to hide a .750 dip or roll in. thanks;dave

Thumbs up from me for Getty Design. My carbon fiber hood bolted right on and lined up very well. No extra work at all besides a nice clear coat applied.
pics don't show it too well, but an excuse to post pics! ![]() ![]()

Getty Design is a leading provider. I have their stuff on my car and many of my friends have it. I have helped install several kinds of parts on a few cars. Mike Shaw also makes great parts. GT Racing is a great provider, be aware that some of their parts come from Getty.
