Help with rough idle problems

Man that thing can't be running on but about three cylinders.
did you pull the plugs one at a time and see if there was spark on all the plugs?

Agreed, it's more than just an idle issue.
I'd look at everything - check the plugs, the ignition wires, intake runner nuts to make sure your not leaking there, vacuum lines. Does it die by itself? Did this just start happening?

Certainly running on 4 or less. I would start with
1. Ignition leads, plugs
2. Injectors.

I would first look for cylinder specific items - that is same cylinders that are not working.
At this time NOT issues that effect all cylinders - coil - fuel - Motronic items - etc.

Where would I start - item 1 above - plugs first just cause it is simple and cheapest.
Examine all plug tips for further clues.

+1...except, these would be my second steps. The very first (and easiest) thing I would do would be to spray around every single intake and vacuum and check for intake leaks. Cheap, easy and takes approximately 1-2 minutes...and usually eliminates the problem.

Sounds a lot like my engine when I had my ignition wires crossed.

+1, but you usually get back fires. At least with CIS you do....maybe Motronic is different?

Started pulling plugs and checking for spark. Only pulled 3 plugs, but all where very black but dry. There was spark, but didn't seem very strong. Ordered new distributor, cap, wires, plugs, and coil. :rolleyes:

If that doesn't work any other ideas?

I replaced the plugs, wires, distrubutor cap and rotor, and coil. Ran much better but still not 100%. Felt and sounded like it was on only 5 cyclinders.
A friend took at it, and with stethascope found one of the injectors to be almost dead (hardly any noise coming from it). He swapped locations to make sure it was the wiring and it didn't work in the new location either so definately a bad injector.

I've got an event next Friday, so I need a new one by Wed. Pelican has them like $280. Is there anywhere you can get them cheaper. A friend told me you can use a Buick injector? Any ideas about that? I just need for the track event Fri, until I can get mine sent out to be cleaned.
