Airbox Removal - Mounting Points

I'm about to remove my airbox to check for what seams likely to be a break. Porsche_Monkey has kindly offered to help me w/ a partial engine drop to do this.

Aside from the fuel lines, vacuum lines, and intake runner connectors, I can see a strut c/w a bonded rubber piece @ the lower front (rear of car) of the box that needs to be disconnected.

Are there any other similar connection points, say, for example, around toward the front of the car?

Am I better off disconnecting the fuel dis lines @ the dis or by pulling the injectors out? I imagine if I pull the injectors then I can replace the o rings there and head off another possible vac leak source.

There is a support near the center of the engine as you found out and one more support under the distributor over the #6 cylinder. I seem to remember it shared one of the intake studs for #6.

Edit: nevermind that, I don't think it uses the intake stud. Can't remember where it was fixed to. Sorry!

Yeah, looks like there are 2: one on the right and one on the left side, towards the rear of the car. Thanks.

The rubber support on the right is hooked up to #6 intake by a small metal support, so no need to unhook it as it will come out to the attached intake if your pulling the whole system.

Best to pull the injectors and replace all o rings and sleeves, also it will be easy to test the injectors once you put it back in with the fresh o rings you can pull them in and out quite easy.

I guess by now you figured all this out, probably. :D

How did it go? SmileWavy

Partial engine drop will be tomorrow morning. I'll let you know what I found.

Paul,
How did the drop go? The injector lines I disconnected both at the dis and at the injectors, dod not pull them though. There are two support mounts behind the airbox as you probably know by now. I am going to clean up my old (broken) airbox tomorrow and attempt to repair it as a spare just in case.
