Air Bag Deployed

We were drilling on vehicle extrication at my fire station and removed the air bag and manually deployed it, quick video not the best quality. Now I know why people are always dazed when we go on traffic accidents where bags have deployed

A friend had one go off. He said it was already deflated, sitting in his lap before he realized he had been in a wreck. Not comfortable, but better than a face full of dashboard.

I was instructing at the racetrack in a 944 turbo when the airbags went off in the braking zone. (no accident, they deployed under braking) All I saw was a cloud of smoke, and the windshield broken I at first thought we were shot. Looked over to check the driver, and saw the driver's airbag in his lap deflated.

A technician at a local Honda dealership was working with his air ratchet under the dash on a new honda when both air bags deployed. Blew out the windshield, caused thousands of dollars of damage and must have scared him near death. He had to go home to recover and they then made some changes to service procedures. Rob
