Bilstein.

They are the ONLY outfit capable of disassembly, repair/recharge, and reassembly.

While I hate to disagree with Steve, I have access to advance information

To the best of my knowledge, there are two places that actually do this work in house. You can go to Bilstein proper, they are in San Diego. Or you can send them to Elephant Racing.

We are now rebuilding / revalving Bilstein shocks in-house. A formal annoucement of our services is forthcoming. As a teaser, we are offering shock conversion / modifications previously unseen. Stay tuned.

I had a feeling you were moving that direction with your request to buy up so many old inserts and shocks

Rebuild?

What is the cost of rebuilding vs. buying new insert say for an older 911?

Bilstein's website breaks down the cost.

eBay provides a valid venue to compare price. Still cheaper to rebuild, even if you have to buy cores.
Hola
