From 901 to G50
I am considering to upgrade my 1970 911T from 901 transmision to G50.
Is this upgrade possible? Any comment is welcome |

It's certainly possible but expensive. If you plan on keeping your car then do it.
If you're planning on selling your car at some time in the future then do it.... I've priced it locally and it's $12,000 and some change... but that's for everything. Shifter, Pedal mods, Clutch and (checked but not rebuilt) G50 Gearbox! You used to have to go to coil overs in the rear because of the tight fit of the G50 in an earlier car but now a process has been developed to "shorten" the G50 so it fits. Do some searching here there are some very specific threads about this. It's becoming more and more common to find earlier cars for sale boasting they have G50s installed. Just one thing that may slow you down. It may be against certain racing rules to run in certain classes with a G50 in an earlier car.
