Thought this preview was informative and worth a share.

That is a great looking car.
I know I'm not going to popular saying this but there is room in the Porsche line-up for such a beast. To me it's the ultimate "daily driver"... I can see my future garage now.... When my VW Golf VR6 finally dies it will be replaced by a Panamera which will have an air cooled 911 next to it... (the 911 will add some kudos to the Panamera) The practical and the toy side by side... Best of both (Porsche) worlds. Also.. When the ignition system fails on the Panamera I can swap to the 911 and get myself to work on time so maybe the toy, practical thing should be swapped

It looks like so many stretched 4 door concept cars Porsche has produced over the years.
That adds integrity in my book. It is a real Porsche.... Don't hate me too much but I really like the hatch back. I bet within a few short years we'll be seeing Japanese cars of very similar design. (not to mention the current Subaru Impreza)

Let's just call it the 91111.

I am thinking I like this car. I need a replacement for my Mercedes soon and it might just be a 4S!

I don't have a problem with the back end, I don't think it looks as bad as the stink bug looking Mercedes. I would rather drive one of those than the Mercedes.
I am a little short of the cash for either one, hope and change hasn't worked out for me. |

The more I see the car, the more I like it. It looks great in dark blue.

Now in 993 land ...

My wife predicts it will be a big hit. She says all the guys whose wife doesn't let them buy a 911 will have to go for this. I think she's right. This car will be very successful in the US especially with people who previously did not own a 911.
IMHO it is very ugly and I'd buy a BMW instead. But I already have a 911 ... ![]() George |

They tend to focus more on the practical side of ownership. I bet she loves the Hatchback on this car.

The Panamera is not available with a manual transmission. End of discussion.

Cannot decide if I like it until I see it in person but for cars of this calibre it is usually not a problem of if you like it or not but whether you can afford it or not.
If you can afford it, that's a no brainer. Just buy it, drive it, and keep it or dump it. ![]() My only problem with modern sport sedans is: Why or how often will you want to accelerate or drive so fast with the back seats occupied by your beloved ones? OK, the only other problem is: Why or how often would you want to drive a sedan for sport motoring fun, with its back seats empty? All right, one last only problem: If you can afford such kind of sport sedan why not get a sedan and a sport car and enjoy the variety.

She sounds like a lady that knows what she wants. A rare thing in these modern times... Hang onto her.

Alniki, the sport sedan can satisfy both the driver in you and take good care of the loved ones, after all, they will only be in the back seats some days, and other days you alone will be pounding through the esses, big ***** eating grin on your face.. , on your way back home from the garden store with a bale of peat moss in the back

They'll be here shortly after intro, just not initially. I hope they sell a lot of manual shifters, b/c in 5 years when the used market gets going, that's what I'm going to want! Should be right about the time I need to retire my '01 530i.
