ATTN: HOUSTON Pelicans - Keels and Wheels Concours D'elegance THIS WEEKEND!
No affiliation, but you guys can't miss this show!
For those of you unfamiliar with Keels and Wheels "Concours d'Elegance" it is happening THIS WEEKEND! May 2nd and 3rd in Seabrook Texas. http://www.keels-wheels.com/ Lots of Beautiful and Rare cars will be shown and auctioned off in addition to many sleek historic wooden boats which will also be shown. This event is held at Lakewood Yacht club and is both land and water based. We don't have a "Pebble Beach" but we have a lake and some great cars and boats. There is a thread on the regional board with discussion regarding a meet-up and possible parade cruise to the show if interested... Keels and Wheels? Here are a few pics I took a couple of years back as teasers. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I've missed it every year. Maybe I'll get a chance to visit this year. Thanks for the heads-up.

I plan to be there on Sunday. I'd like to take my '70 but I don't want to just park in a giant lot.

Saturday morning update....This area is crawling with Beautiful cars!
I've worked out a couple of possible options for "safer" parking.... and its a FREEBIE!!! Option 1 -- My friend owns Carlos' Automotive about 2 miles from the marina and has offered his entire parking lot with Nasa1 frontage for us to park our "babies" in plain sight of the road....and he's got security cam's incase of issues (highly unlikely!) Option 2 -- I just got the stamp of approval from the management at the Seabrook hOOters to allow us to park in the gravel strip on the side of their building and even to allow us to put Caution tape out so we don't get idiots messing with the cars...this option is much more limited on space...(6-8 cars probably) but is only a couple of hundred yards walking distance from the marina... I've got caution tape and some stakes to rope off the area and I intend to go over tomorrow and tape it off....This spot will be reserved for those bringing P-cars....If the turnout outgrows the spot...we can always go back to option 1 and pile in the truckster with a little more peace of mind versus parking the cars in a field and riding the shuttlebus! Hope to see you tomorrow! Cheers Einar

I was surprised that the wife wanted to go, so we went to lunch at Cuisine of India and then drove down to the event. I looked for a Pelican sticker to stick to my shirt or something before I went (I know I've got a bunch someplace), but couldn't find one.
Lots of great cars. Did you guys see the 997 based Ruf RT12 outside of the entrance? I only saw 2 (or was it 3) 911s on display, but several 356s including a pretty early car. I really liked how you can really look at the cars without having to screw with chains and barriers. Several owners were happy to talk about their stuff. Lots of Morgans. I wish there had been more Lotuseseses (lotii?). The 908 was pretty spectacular as well as the aluminum C-Type and the D-type!! I wish there had been more cars, but the wifey was hot and wishing we hadn't had a big lunch right before, so it was probably better than it wasn't bigger.

What a great turn out. Some beautiful 356's and a 908 to boot. I don't have any pics but it was great. The Eddie Griffin Enzo was there. It looked pretty good considering.
