you might compile search results
cheapest (& ugliest; heaviest) way is to modify a 964/993 twin distr. - that is what I have & would love to throw $1,000 bills at a nicer system... |

I have used both single and dual plug Electromotive systems with no issues.
If I was starting from scratch, today, I would research CIS replacement with Megasquirt http://www.bitzracing.com/products/index.html Megasquirt setup for 930 and dual plug EDIS |

Big bore CIS motors are fun, but they always leave you wanting for more. There was a user here on the BBS that built a large bore 3.4 CIS motor for their car. I predicted that he would enjoy the motor, and then in about six months be looking for more. Ironically, six months a day or so, he advertised the motor for sale. Big bore CIS motors never really seem to have many fans. If you read my book, you can figure out why - they have to run these mild cams to avoid the problems with fuel reversion in the common plenum. Nothing really beats individual throttle bodies like you find on MFI or carbs (or properly setup independent throttle-bodied fuel injection).
Bottomline, if you're spending this kind of dough on your engine rebuild, I would ditch the CIS and go with an injection system that has some type of individual throttle bodies. You know, I've only seen MFI on one 911 motor with a displacement greater than 3.0, and that's this old Vasek motor I happen to have in my collection. -Wayne ![]()
