Headliner install question......
 

Hi,

I'm in the process of installing a new headliner in my '71 coupe non sunroof.

I got everything done and only have the C-pillar to do left. I understand that the headliner gets glued to the rear window frame and the rear quarter window frame, but how do you tension the headliner where it meets the parcel shelf? Just try to stretch, hold it for the glue to set or is there another way I haven't thought of?

Take off the rear parcel shelf. there is a rod that runs from the 1/4 widow the the corner of the rear window held down by some metal tangs. the liner has a pocket stitched in it for the rod to slide through. i just finished installing a headliner in my sunroof coupe major major pita. as wayne says " i think a engine rebuild is easier than a headliner install".
