Old project and new start

Thanks to many friends, both local and here on PP, we have been able to make two major changes.

The first is our much loved 911 (912-6) is now one color again. She started as a street car in the lovely 1976 metallic brown......

....and after sliding down the slippery slope of track driving, she has been transformed to...

She should be assembled and back on track in a few weeks.

The new start is that I am happy to announce that my wife and I have decided to offer our services in design and fabrication by starting Stahlwerks here in Charlotte. We are designing and building custom cage work, plus other metal reconstruction and enhancements, all at competitive rates. The new website is still under construction, but can be found at www.stahlwerks.com

Thanks everyone!!!

Looking hot! Much better than the outgoing Scheissbraun.

"Scheissbraun". I'm not sure if that particular color has an authentic Porsche code.

The doors are back together and look great! Love the black vs the chrome.

I'm staying with the C2 wheels, but may black them out when I change tires next.

How did you do this? Did you start with the OEM chrome window surrounds and paint/powder coat black or did you buy black ones?

Great colour by the way...

I used replacement black parts from a parts car, they were a bit faded and scuffed. They were cleaned, etch primed, then sprayed with SEM black trim paint (awesome stuff, hard as nails).

It was the rattle can product, as was the etching primer (SEM too)

thanks John, great to know. Do you think it would be appropriate for a 69 dash face, where the gauges plug into?

Yes, I think it would be perfect. Just the right amount of flat.

Perfect, thanks John! can't wait to see more progress, love the orange. Will you be doing a light-medium grey Carrera stripe down the side to tie into the wheels? I love Cup IIs.

I was thinking more of painting the wheels gloss black and staying scriptless, maybe put a small 912-6GT on the bottom corner of the deck lid.
