Jeff,
Loved my MFI cars. Had a 72S built to factory narrow body Sport Purpose 2.4S specs with full ST interior and another 72 w a 2.8 twinplug MFI motor w real Minilite rims. Ran 225/15's front and rear on both of them. My 85 just seems so civil compared to them. |

225s up front may be better, but "significant understeer" is a gross exaggeration. I've done many track days with 205/245 and have no understeer issues.

all relative I guess. For racing and limited to stock suspension/limited camber due to club race regulations I found it pretty significant. In racing applications I also found the brakes to be inadequate (aluminum S calipers) but it is still a blast of a car to drive.

On my 85 I have stock suspension w 205/225's on 7&8's. On the track all I have to do it turn the steering wheel further than expected and the car turns with out issue. Other than that, I just steer with the throttle. The most front neg I can get is about -1.2 deg.
I found that Castor SPF at $80 a quart (high wet temp so I do not have to flush very often) and good pads helps the brakes a bunch. |

205/55/16 & 245/45/16
205/55/16 & 245/45/16 running on 7 and 9 inch fuchs
I am having some minor sidewall rubbing with the front fender when I hit a major bump. Otherwise I love the wheel and tire combo ![]()
