Actually we hate the buyer... because he is a crook.

Yes, yes. This begs the imponderable question as to why some cars are worth more than the sum of their parts and others cars are worth less than the sum of their parts.

I don't hate the buyer because I was outbid and I was outbid by a lot. It's the business practices, the way buyers have been treated and the shape of parts that they ship buyers. Some people have had good experience but know of enough that have not. Reputation is based on how well you deal with problems and how you make them right. I believe in a full truthful description of the parts that are for sale. I have not sold a large amount of items but the descriptions are accurate along with pictures to back it up.
I have been going to auctions for as long as I can remember. You win some you loose some, part of the game. They may be able to get that money for the parts. I wouldn't have asked those prices. The door I question to whether the it is straight or not. That car was bent a lot. Just too many questionable parts for me to take a chance on paying this much. Who knows how much higher the car would have gone plus bidders fee and another $850.00 shipping and someone might have been posting how crazy I was to pay that for this car. I had some great advice from someone who buys at auction as to how much to pay for the car. It was invaluable in making a decision of how much to bid. There will always be another one to bid on. ![]() ![]() ![]()

with unknown history is typically about $5K. $800 for the rear bumper? People have stacks of these impact bumpers they can't give away.

If this was bought from "that dealer" (Victory) in Houston, I wonder if it's one I test drove for another Pelican a few years ago. The car was immaculate when I looked at it, but it didn't pass the PPI. Low compression or leak down if I remember correctly. It was a beautiful car, really an unusual color.

well, if the bidding went to $5200 that means there were (2) buyers, bidding against each other to get the price up.
So someone else also thought it was worth (almost) $5200. |
