85 power seat electrical issue

I just received my newly recovered seats and installed them today. On the drivers side i could only get the seat back to raise but not lower. The up and down work. When I reach under and move the large 4 prong plug over a notch I get the reverse, It lowers but does not raise forward. It was working and I must have messed up some connector underneath. My back is killing me from the install and it is hard to see underneath. Does any one have a suggestion or recognize my error before I pull that heavy seat out again? thanks Doug

Perhaps the trim shop got the switch wiring wrong. Do a search here for the correct wiring/plug and pull the switches to confirm they are correct.
good luck,
Ben

I'm pretty sure the only way to make the necessary checks is to remove the seat again, sorry. Make sure the wires are in their proper spots. If so, you may need to clean some contacts...make sure to put a tiny dab of di-electric on any contacts before re-connecting.

good luck.
