I should have known better........

Bought new Yoko ES100's and had them delivered to the house. Decided to give the "new guys" in town to mount the tires. My wife said "drive the extra distance and have America's Tire mount them". I should have listened. When I got home I found that one of my pristine 9" Fuchs now has a 1/2 wide gouge from where they obviously tried pry the tire of the rim. Went back to the tire place only to hear the installer say that the scratch was already there, "our $20,000 machine couldn't have done that", I called BS. The fact that the guy lied to my face made me so mad I started shaking. They offered me the chance to drive 30 miles to drop off the wheel and have it fixed and drive another 30 miles to pick it up, Lucky me. I'm so pissed right now I could put my fist thru a wall.........

I will no longer be patronizing this establishment and will only have my tires mounted at "America's Tire".

Boy I almost know that feeling. I had just polished my wheels so good you could see your nipple rings in e'm. A few days later developed a slow leak and dropped the car off at the shop within walking distance from my house. Went to pick it up and the wheel was smeared with a greasy rag and had so many little scratches in it another hour was required to bring it back. I complained to the manager and he tore up the bill. I will still not go back there.

I have had good luck with tipping the tire guy ahead of time and mentioning that these wheels are aluminum and scratch very easy. Zero issues.

Maybe a digital photo of the wheels taken just prior to having the work done?...

Send it to Harvey Weidman in Oroville. He'll make it right.

Scott, I'm about 20 miles from Oroville and need some wheel work done also, how would I get in touch with Harvey?

After cleaning & touch-up painting my wheels, I was VERY concerned that the new tires would be mounted and balanced with care.

For my other cars, I take the wheels & tires to a local shop. For the Porsche, I thought about it, and decided to take the new tires to a local independent Porsche-only shop (Power Tech, in northern NJ).
