Chassis Dolly Specifications: Ideas?
For those of you that have, or are presently restoring a 911, and are using a chassis dolly to get the car up to a level that you can work;
What are some ideas for construction of a chassis dolly? Where are good contact points to the body? Overall dimensions? I am assuming that you would want it to be on swivel castors? Any you would want a dolly that allowed access to both the engine and the trunk compartments? Would you want to make a skeletal frame, so that you could access the floorboards? Or would you want a flat 'deck' surface that supports the complete floor pan? Any pictures of existing dollies would be much appreciated? Thanks for your help. chris ------------------ chris collier collier@iglou.com 72 911T stock and ok with that, for now |
Chris,
Sorry, no info for you, but I'm interested in hearing what you find out. If you get responses offline, would you send me a copy at csprigg@hotmail.com? Thanks, Charlie |
There is a couple of pictures and diagrams of a dolly for doing frame alignment in the factory manuals. I dig up the info when I get home tonight.
