TBitz EFI - CIS Leftovers
I have started down the EFI path on my 80 SC. I got the airbox and all the associated CIS parts out of the car. I know I need to still use the AAR, but everything else goes. The question I have is what to do with the aluminum Frankenstein pile that the AAR was plumbed into? There are two more branches on the thing. Should I plug them up? Is there a more elegant alternative?
The gap near my right foot is where the AAR goes now. I believe the end near my left foot connects to the airbox. The two gold colored CIS bits and the big black tube go away. ![]() I know there is a Yahoo group but I can put pictures in here which I hope is clearer. Thanks for any advice. Just run a hose from the AAR to the bottom of throttle body (where the hose at your left foot connects), then buy a small air filter for the other side of the AAR. The rest of the Frankenstein pile of aluminum and rubber hoses go away.

Two more points.
- I actually took a hack saw to the aluminum pipe and reused a piece of it to connect directly to my AAR with another short piece of rubber hose. The vacuum level here is very high which is probably why Porsche has an aluminum pipe here instead of a rubber hose. A long run of rubber hose would probably collapse under pressure. - You need to make sure the AAR is pointed in the right direction when you connect it back up. I believe there is an arrow on it that points in the direction of the air flow. In my EFI installation it is physically reversed from the CIS installation. Air flow didn't change, just how it is bolted down.
