Will cleaning and spraying bolts and nuts affect strength.

I'm cleaning up some bolts and nuts with vinegar (acetic acid) and afterwards respraying them, will this affect their strength? I've had a bunch of bolts re-zinced but I forgot the ones which attach the brake rotors to the bearing hub (M8 with (only) 17 ft-lb/23 Nm). I'm thinking of spraying them with VHT and than bake them. Any comments (except that I should get a live )?

Garp,
Shouldnt think cleaning with acetic acid will affect strength (if by that you mean hardness) unless of course you are going to leave the parts in the acid for weeks or months.... I think if just a quick clean and rinse is all thats done should have no lasting effect
