Oil Return line question
Ok so when I dropped my engine I had to cut the oil return line. I was too scared to snap off the fitting off the oil tank. But after looking at mine I noticed that there was a crimp connection on the line where the hard steel meets the rubber line.. Did I totally ruin my line by cutting it? Seems the rubber part should be replaceable. What do you guys suggest?

Anyone know how to make this work......I really dont want to spend another $100 or so on a new hard line...

lots of folks go to their local hydraulic hose repair outfit and have them replace the rubber portion using new crimp collars. huntington beach....go see who chip foose uses.

+1 with JW
but you will still need to get the other end off the tank and bring it with you. |
be sure to let them know what direction the end piece goes before it's crimped solid.

thanks guys. I cut the old hose in half so it will need replacing anyways. The one pelican sells looks to have a nut on both ends. Do I just cut the nut off and have it crimped. Ya chips shop is a stones throw away from me.

So I got the line from pelican and as I suspected....there is a nut on the end. So do I cut the nut off? Will it be too short then??? Im so close to finishing that the details are driving me nuts. Thanks
