Broken CHT Sensor Connector

In an attempt to track down a 4500 RPM stumble I was looking at the CHT sensor wires and noticed a connector broken and a bare wire showing. Do you think it would be ok for me to cut both wires and connect them without the broken connector? It is the black wire.

Thanks,
Chris

that's the oxygen sensor plug. they break all the time. as long as the wires connect well, the system works, broken connector and all. you can replace it with a simple insulated male to female connection.

Sweet. I guess I just thought it had something to do with the CHT sensor cause it was grouped in with those two wires. Do you think I could cut the wires, remove the connector, and just attatch the wires without a connector?

use push together connectors so the engine can be removed without cutting it again. the head temp connector is on the fat black wire under your finger in the lower pic. it has a white connector above the two black ones.

I'll pick up a connector and do it myself. Thanks again for the help.
