Starting/idling issues

My '78 911SC that has just been re-awakened after a year or so nap, starts rough. After numerous attempts to start, the idle is very rough with frequent stalls. Once she is running, accelerating is rough and choppy. After she warms up, this problem goes away and she idles fine at a stop. However, if she cools down the problems re-occur. The Clymer shop manual suggests idle mixture and/or idle speed adjustments. What advise from you guys? Thanks.

I recently had the same issue with my 80 sc.....I took it in and had a service done including valve adjustments, and the throttle body cleaned out...this fixed the issue and the car runs perfect.

I would run a couple fresh tanks of gas and maybe a bottle of techron through it before making any major adjustments, especially if the car ran good prior to hibernation. You could end up chasing demons that don't really exist. I just went through the same thing after the car sat for over a year while I was saving for a rebuild. She ran a little rough, almost exactly what you describe, until the injection system cleaned itself out. Also if you had nothing in the gas for all that time, things could just be gummed up some.
