Air compressor at the track: need recommendation

I did a search but couldn't find anything on what folks do at the track. Looking for either a decent battery powered air compressor (if there is such thing). What do you guys use at the track if there isn't a large compressor handy?

I use an air tank.

Sometimes I bring a small 110v compressor, if I know there is no compressor at the track.

Thanks DAD911. How do you fill it? I don't have a large home compressor so I need a stand alone air compressor that doesn't need power at the track.

I fill it before I go, or at the track. Some of the local tracks have air.

If you have no compressor, you may want to get one of the small portable (110v)compressors they sell for nailsguns, etc.

I use a 12v compressor, it will inflate my 4x4 tyres from flat in about two minutes so it only takes seconds to add a few pounds to tyres at the track. To find a good one check out the 4x4 or off road stores. Go for maximum flow not maximum PSI, after all who needs a tyre pump that will inflate to 180psi! The other bonus is they are small and lite enough to leave in the trunk.

I've never been to a track that doesn't have air.

I have a QuickAir II that I use to power my ARB locking differentials on my rock crawler, and it can also fill up my 38" tires, but that seems like overkill for track use. For the small air volume of a low profile performance tire, I think just about any 12v compressor will work fine, just don't trust the pressure gauge, buy a good quality tire pressure gauge like the one from Moroso.

or electric. I drag along a small pancake compressor, 135 psi. The small HD ones. Dewalt or Porter Cable. An air chock to fill the tires and it runs my impact gun just fine for lugs. I have them all lining up to swap tires or do brakes. I keep it full for the ride to or from in case I need some air. Bring an extension cord. there's gotta be electric someplace at the track.

Thanks for the suggestions this will help. There is air and power at the local tracks but depending on where I end up on the paddock, it can get very inconvenient. I'm just trying to make it more accessible when I need it. I think I'll go with the 5-gal tank and fill it prior to the event and as necessary.

Might try this for the small adjustments you need at the track. I've also used the factory compressor in my SC. I take an air tank when racing but have a larger home compressor to fill it. This charges my cell phone, AMB and can start the car if I kill the battery. Mine is from Sears but similar idea.
