New to the Forum

Hello All.
I am new to the forum and thought I would take the time to introduce myself. After years of dreaming, 3 months ago I finally had the opportunity to purchase my first Porsche. I had been looking for some time and came across a 1982 SC Targa with 82,000 miles on it. I took it in for a PPI and she got a clean bill of health. I decided on the purchase and after getting it home, I sat in the garage for an hour just admiring such a great car. The car has some paint chips and the paint is peeling around the drivers mirror but I intend on getting it painted in the winter. For now, I just want to enjoy driving the car.
I have posted a couple of times to get some emergency answers for problems that happened and I appreciate the great response that I got from everyone. I thought that I had and oil leak and the PPI mechanic missed it but I actually overfilled and after it drain out (all over my garage floor) it has not leaked in a month. Then, the drivers mirror fell off and someone responded with a fix that solved the problem with only 15 minutes worth of work. I knew right away that this forum had a great group of people willing to help out anyone that needed it and I wanted to be a part of it.
I live in Reno Nevada and am always looking for someone in the area looking to go for a drive. If anyone is interested, PM me and we can see if we can make it happened.
I look forward to plenty of good advice and making a few friends.
Chris

If you don't mind me asking, where did you find the car? It looks like one I saw in Northern California. (The bright red interior is what makes me think it could be the same car...)

Congrats, and welcome!

Do you know its history? Was it in NorCal within the last 10 years or so?

I don't know the cars history. I may have come for NorCal. The PO did not have a lot of history for it that's why I made sure the the PPI mechanic did a thorough inspection. The car had been sitting in the garage for the last 5 years and when the PO got it ready to sell, he did the typical repairs (fuel lines, fuel filter, etc). That all I know.
