Most 911 MSD users use the Hi-Vibration coil offered by MSD. It is obviously compatible with the MSD box and has proved compatible with my Pertronix and stock tach ('76 2.7L).

I put the high vibration coil on and that clip that snaps on to of the coil to keep the wire from lifting off I have had no issues with burning up things.

if you want it off your engine this MSD works great
pelicanparts can get a longer Magnacore coil wire from them http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1262239681.jpg |
This is how my coil is mounted. (1978 SC)
The clamps were left overs from a WAN antenna install at work. If you look closely they even have SC moulded into the top of them... lol The brackets are just left overs from other jobs. Not even sure what they were for. My coil is the oil filled version. If I had mounted it upside down like the OEM one the oil would leak out. I didn't know about the MSD epoxy potted version when I bought the parts. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1262240768.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1262240787.jpg |
