Exhaust banging(Webers)
I have had a recent full rebuild on my 2.7.New euro P&C's,e-cams,new valves, ported and polished ect.My carbs are 40 IDA's,air correction 180,idles 60,mains 145,F3 emulsions and 34 venturis. The car runs great at speed, smooth transition onto the main circuit from the idles, idles smoothly at 850 rpm.The only issue I have is a lot of banging out the exhaust(I think),when coasting down a hill or anytime on the decel and really only when warmed up.Would this be a jetting issue, mixture issue or should I just be happy for the smooth running the rest of the time

You seem to be getting air into the exhaust system allowing for unburned fuel to ignite. A bigger cam and other mods will produce more unburned fuel and I'll bet that's the basis of the problem. Go over your exhaust fittings carefully to see if I may be correct.

both my SC CIS 3.0 with a backdate exhaust, and my '66 with headers and a bursch on a webbered 3.0 do the popping-banging on hard compression braking. is this a bad thing? as above, I kind of like the sound.
