It started (video)
After a story that would rival War and Peace.... it is finally running. After the airbox blowing itself to bit because the engine builder installed the distributor 360 deg out, Installed a set of webers and with no tunning sounded like this. There is a downside a massive oil leak from between the left bank timming chain housing and the cam tower............. thank God for warranty.
Love this sound............ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HmHURxAImx4 |

Thanks, yes great sound. Hope it goes half as good. I am not sure who makes the system I have been trying to find that out, so far no success.
Here are a couple of pics maybe someone will recognise it! ![]() ![]() |

How big is "massive"? I would think even a chewed up o-ring there would only allow a few drops a minute. So distributor 180-off and at least one cocked up seal? Attention to detail, eh?

Ok lets define "massive"............ at idle and cold it drips once every second, warm and at 3000rpm the drips join hands and create a steady flow. The timming had been set up to fire on one when four was at TDC with compression. This caused the airbox to blow itself to bits which is why it now has webers.
Oh well it has been twelve months now so another couple of weeks won't hurt. Cheers. |
