Kirkey Seats

Before I have a welder come out to my garage, has anyone put in Kirkey seats? Any ideas on the best way to build a flat base off of the original seat points. (1975 911 body)

I have been using seats that were bolted from the bottom but are now out dated; Kirkey's were the economical choice and sold locally.

Thanks for any ideas

I used the aluminum brackets optional with Kirkeys, and bolted them to mounts for the seat rails.

I have the rails from Kirkey but with the 17" seats they go past the original mounts and onto the section that isn't flush. Was thinking of just having a steel square welded in and everything else cut out. This would probably work but was looking for how other people tackeled the project.

You may have the 15 or 16" seats. Did you install the rails facing in or per the instructions facing out?

Thanks,

I'm pretty sure that they are installed facing in, or one in and one out. (two left brackets on one seat, two rights on the other

Use steel washers, as thick and large as you can fit, on the seat rail bolts, and you should use all holes, to keep the small allen head bolts from pulling through the sheet aluminum.

We used the factory seat anchors on my 69 911.
The seat was narrow enough to fit between the seat rails, I'm 6'6".
Just some aluminum angle stock to support and attach the chair.
Been on the track for a couple of years with no seat mount problems.
Get the bead seat and you'll have the best fitting seat available for around $600.
