OK...MAYBE I'M GETTING OLD. WILL SOMEONE FINALLY PLEASE EXPLAIN THIS "ALL YOUR BASE.." STUFF TO ME!!!

Is this some type of literary incompetence test? Is it supposed to sound like a foreigner (or invader) that can't speak English? Where did this come from, and what does it mean?

Ladies and Gentlemen, my dog, Manfred, will not sleep until he gets an answer to this. Have you ever tried to manage a beligerant Dachshund?

Please...HELP ME!!

It's from a Japanese anime movie.

Oh yeah, Raf is right - it's from a video game, not a movie. Sega Genesis, I think...

Old_Skul, aka Mark, will know just about everything about this probably but here is my go at trying to explain it.

The game was Zero Wing and it was made for the regular Sega console, I think. Anyway, the game was originally in Japanese and when the game was translated it was one of the worst translations ever. There were sayings like All Your Base are Belong to Us, Free Zig for greater justice, make your time, etc.

Then, because of the poor translation, the game was talked about in some magazine. A cult following came about and people made a little video using clips from the game. A guy nicknamed Bad_CRC was the one that made the first knockoff video using the clips from the game. It is still floating around the internet and if you search for it, I am sure you will find greater details about it.
