One piece left after rebuild . . . where the heck does it go??

Top end overhaul of 3.6L 98% complete, but . . .

I have two pieces that look the same. I know where one goes, but I can't figure out where the second piece goes. The piece is about 2.5 inches long, and looks like a sewing thread spool. (They look a lot like, but are shorter than, the shaft for the clutch fork, too.) I had two of these little buggers in the same zip lock baggie with all the steering pump stuff. One of the spool-looking pieces acts like a standoff between the back of No. 6 head and the back plate of the steering pump housing. There is a bolt & washer that goes through it, too. It looks like there is a similar spot underneath the first one, but I don't see any reason for it.

I don't have a digital camera, so I can't post a picture just yet. On my photos before tear down, I can't see where this thing goes, either. Help!!

It sounds like the spacer/standoff for the flat aluminium cover plate that encloses the pulley and belt for the power steering pump assy.

Got a scanner?? Put it on the scanner and put a small cardboard box over it, just large enough to cover it. Scan it in and send it up.

Hello

The parts have mostly order numbers. Sometimes you can find those direct in the cataloge. There is one online at: http://www.msroadrace.com/Table%20of%20contents%20ALL.htm

It would help to see the part. You can take regular film to some film developers who will not only make your pictures but put them on a CD, so you could upload the digital image. I know Walgreen Drugstore does it in my area. Use the opportunity to take some good pictures of your car at the same time as the part so you will have them in digital format. No need in wasting all the other shots on items you don't need digital.
