Priming Oil System in '89 Carerra?

Hi all,

My car has been off the road for around 3 weeks whilst I've been doing my TT conversion.

What's the best way to prime the oil system when I'm ready to fire her up for the first time?

I assume I just disconnect the DME Relay and crank the motor until she registers oil pressure, check for leaks, then reconnect the DME relay and fire her up?

Advice appreciated

I've read it should be primed? Maybe being over cautious?

You describe the cautious procedure correctly.
