Is the Starter Solenoid Wiring.........

Is the starter solenoid wiring the same on a '77 3.0 930 the same as a '84+ 3.2? Reason being is I only have the Bentley for the newer car but need to work on the '77.

Also, can the starter be removed on a 3.0 with 930 tranny without lowering the engine? I can't even see the top bolt.

JH,

911 ('74-'77) use 3-terminal (15/30/50) type starters, while '78-'83 and early Carreras use 2-terminal (30/50) type starters. There are some similarity by not the same. So you have to check whether your car has 2 or 3 terminal starter configuration. Or your car might have undergone a conversion to later model starter.

The second part, you can remove the starter from your 915 transmission without any engine partial drop. You need a long 10-mm allen wrench to the remove the top Allen barrel type nut. Disconnect the battery connection before you try to remove the starter. Good luck.

This is not a 915 trans, it is a 930 (4 speed)

The starter has 2 large lugs on the solenoid, and as of yet I don't know about a small terminal as I can't see the top of it.
