Window not going up or down
Well tonight my wife was trying to open her window, passenger side, and it would not move from the door control (electric). I could get it to go down a bit, 4 inches or so, from the driver's side control. It went down real slow and went back up almost normal speed. I didn't want to play with it too much for fear of breaking something. Any ideas where to start? Relay? Fuse? Window control? A short? Poor ground? This is a 77 911S.
Thanks for any help. |
I'm gonna subscribe because I too have something like this problem; right-side window sometimes won't move until I cycle the switch several times, and it moves very slowly.

Sounds like the window regulator needs to be cleaned and lubed.
What will happen one time is that the window will come out of it's mounting and fall into the door. Ask me how I know.;) Search here with the terms window regulator and there are pics of how it is done. Steve--Your problem may be related to the actual window switch. The contacts may be getting worn out. A new switch SHOULD fix that. It may be a good idea to check the action of the regulator at the same time. |
Remember if one switch died completely the others will not work. I replaced a faulty pass side switch and my intermitent problems were resolved!

Here's a thread I started yesterday pertaining to a faulty window switch:
