Big "thanks" to the targa window contributors
I just finished installing new body seals (most of them) after some minor body repairs over the winter on my 83 SC. I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who contributed to these posts:
Removing rear targa glass, without ruining the seal?? Quick Targa window install trick Targa Rear Window Removal -- Observations and Questions Rosewood gets a paint job..... Using the info everyone input I was able to get the rear window seal on by myself in less than an hour, and in one try; I wouldn't even have known where to start without this help. The metal "lock trim" also went in without a hitch and only needed to start over on one side when I realized I was too far out of whack to match up. All-in-all it was really quite a straight forward procedure. My forearms are killing me, and I have a few cuts and scrapes. My language was not the best at times, but it really helped being aware of what was happening, how it worked and taking my time. I now need an extra pair of hands before I tackle the rope-in installation. I have glycerin to make things slippery, and with some patience and good luck, I am hoping for a straight forward install. Thanks again folks. Jamie

Rear window install was very annoying, and I have a few questions for someone with the knowledge. When the window was finally in, we noticed that as we put on the targa bar seal, the window is too far to the right side. How did this happen? Is there any way to adjust that now, or is it a remove and re-do kind of project? Lastly, is there a good link that someone knows of for adjusting the targa top? Mine is now too tight in the front and wants to "pop out" of its clips. I also found that it leaks in the rain around the drivers window. Thanks in advance.

If the glass is recently installed, it may yet move over if you have professional suction cup to attach to the flattest part you can find. Just bump it over. You may have to squirt some water under your seal to activate the soap you used. I'll be the reason it happened is that you didn't pull the ropes at the same time to center.

Thanks Milt. That is true that we did not pull around evenly at the same time. I left the pulling to a friend who has done many windows. Even though I told him (several times) to go around (as was in the above posts), he insisted this was the way, and it would it right in after the rope was finished. Oh well. I will try the suction cups thing. Thank you.
