CIS - bad fuel line between filter and fuel distributor

I have a 1980 911 SC. I just R&R'd the motor for a tranny rebuild and the fuel line between the fuel filter and the fuel distributor gave up at the gooseneck fitting. It doesn't seem torn, but the gooseneck does spin, which isn't good - no seal. Is there a way to repair this or do I have to drop the motor again to get at the back of the motor to put a new line in? How much is the new line? I'm sure that others have encountered this.
