Driver carpet is shot... What to do??

On my 80SC, the backing of the driver side carpet is completely shot, and pretty much worn through. Is there any way to buy just the one carpet piece, or can I just buy floor mats to take place of the carpet piece?

Thanks,
Scott

Keep your eye on the classifieds here and at Rennlist if you want used.

Pelican sells new sets.

mine is pretty worn as well. I just bought some cheap blue mats at the local auto parts place and they work just fine. They obviously don't fit around the gas pedal like the factory pieces.

One of these days I will get the RS carpet kit for the car anyway.

If only one piece of carpet is shot, I'd find a decent used carpet piece then get some new floor mats to cover it up. The heavy duty Lloyd's mats that Pelican sells do a good job of saving the carpet from wear. Another high-wear area is the piece of carpet covering the wheelwell where your left foot rests. A dead pedal is a worthwhile investment, both for comfort and for saving the carpet there. In hindsight, I certainly regret waiting 2 years to put the Rennline dead pedal in my car.
Just my $.02.

It looks like the Rennline Track mat may be a pretty good option. What I like about it, is the dual purpose. I can use it for DE days, and then just put floor mats over it for everyday.
