Hello all,
would you advise any good supplier for getting two new batteries for my 1970 911T? What are the price ranges for these?
Thanks a lot

Best way to save money (and weight) is to only use one battery.
I have use the interstate U911 for years with only one battery. No problems starting, but you must remember to disconnect the second battery cable from the clamp.

Sonnenschein makes great replacement batteries...do a search and you should find some purchasing info They are an exact replacement size and I believe they are a dry cell battery so the worries of them causing rust are minimized. Have had my set for about 2 years and they have been great.

Ditto on the Sonnenschein, the model for '69-'73 is the DF 75.

The cost of a lead acid battery is less until you consider the cost of a front suspension pan replacement from a boiled over or cracked battery.

From another post (http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/479604-duel-battries-post4717642.html?highlight=optima#post4717642):

An alternative is go with a single Optima on it's side in one of the boxes and disconnect the excess wire.

Also, you can get the exact fit lead acid style ones from your Porsche dealer (http://www.porsche.com/canada/en/accessoriesandservices/classic/genuineparts/neweditions/). Look for: "Battery 12V 36Ah for the 911, Model: 911, Model Year: 1965-1973, Part number: 999 611 014 91, Availability: 01.03.2009". Pelican lists them at $189/ea and a special order.

Here in the states, an Interstate Battery U911 is also an exact fit.

There are other soptins such as Miata, Oddessy or Stinger batteries as well.

FWIW: I went with a single Optima.
