IN need of Bruce Aderson's 2008 market update.

I have totalled my beloved 87 3.2. And to make matters worse, my isurance co. is low-balling me big time on its value. Anyone out there have Augst, 08 Excellence and can email or scan or even tell me the values he lists for an 87-89 3.2?

My insurer is clueless and needs to be educated. Offering me under $17,000 for an excellent (formly) condition 87 with many extras, H-4s, new clutch, shocks, turbo bits, wheel, Alpine, tires, no leaks, dings or scratches. I sent like 15 more comparable cars currently for sale near me between $23,00-$26,00) but would like to scan or email them Anderson's article which says these are the last and best of the torsion bar suspended, originaly designed 911's. Cannot find on the internet.

Oh and I was driving too "spiritedly' in the rain -- yes I'm an idot and pushed beyond my own limits then hit a guard rail. Bummer!

Thanks all and happy safe motoring.

I think the most recent Excellence has a 74-89 update.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune.

Looking at the most recent issue and it reads:

1987 Coupe so-so - $19,380
good - $21,897
excellent - $28975

I would scan it for you... but I don't have a scanner here at home.

If you need another source, the "official NADA price guide" gives similar numbers, and may be more acceptable to the insurance company:

http://www.nadaguides.com/default.aspx?LI=1-22-1-5013-0-0-0&l=1&w=22&p=1&f=5014&y=1987&m=1144&d=139&c=13&vi=99082&da=-1

low retail: $18.4k
average retail: $21k
high retail: $27.5k

Notably there appear to be (2) duplicate links on the NADA site for the '87 911 coupe, one labeled "Carrera 2 door coupe" and the other labeled "Coupe 2 dr Carrera". One gives the numbers listed above, while the other gives slightly lower numbers.

Sorry to hear about your car. Makes me want to slow down a bit with mine... well, maybe I'll think about it.... who am I kidding....

Not to be Capt. Obvious here but why in the heck didn't you have an "agreed value" policy?
