New Supercharging Source for 3.2 and 3.6

All you boosting fans out there need to check out the latest European Car mag. Turbo Performance Center in MD has just come out with a blower for the 964/993 that pumps up the volume to 360+HP at the crank. No word on price. Kit runs no intercooler and only 4.5lb of boost (stock compresion is 11:1). A kit for the 3.2 is to follow soon. Installation looks very clean.

I'm getting the feeling that we have yet another company with claims but nothing to back it up. Anybody done business with these guys?

I want a bolt on. *I* will install it. No one touches the machine but me. Like disciplining your own children--I trust No Mechanics.
I'd much rather install it with the BBS nearby for questions...if that can't be done, I won't bother.

There was a good article about a 964 C4 turbo conversion that they did in European Car April 1996 issue. The car had 450bhp, 12.2@118mph quarter mile. EC had nothing but praise as the car performed flawlessly throughout the test. The cost was quoted at 11.2k for parts and 3-4k for installation.
The compression was dropped by machining the pistons to 8.5:1

I think they also do Boxter turbo conversions which was also reviewed well though I forgot in which mag. No personal experience with them. Thet do sell the nifty PMS programmer though which can basiacally reprogramme the Motronic. Anyone tried this before?

Anyone have a website for Supercharging of Knoxville [did the 3.2 supercharging kits discussed in Anderson's book]. Any experience with their product?

Not to sound pestimistic but.... there is no "bolt on". There are no short cuts in the forced induction world and certainly no free lunch. You can not simply bolt on a sc (or turbo) to an engine not built for it and expect it to last and be dependable. There are a lot or reasons for this.

The 3.2 can handle it. It's got the turbo crank etc...all I want is 30-40 bolt on horsies.

I think 30-40hp is no problem..
now 375-400 total HP is what you're looking at...I agree, you need some special considerations for that kind of HP.

Agreed http://www.pelicanparts.com/ultimate/smile.gif

I was responsing to their claim of adding 100hp, 50% increase, no intercooler, etc.. If I remember correctly, the major issue with the 3.2 is the smaller (9mm?) connecting rod bolts.

Caveat, I don't know them personally but here is what I've heard: Turbo Performance is Mike Levitas' shop in Glen Burnie, MD. He is an avid PCA club racer. I believe GT1S is where he runs. The red turbo on the home page is his car. It is one of the fastest around the east coast in club racing circles. From what I've heard from my local P'car mechanic, he is a dependable guy. I'm pretty sure he'll be down at Sebring. They do some pro racing support too. I am local to MD and have not heard any "stay away from those guys" stories. FWIW.
