Sold the beater, forced to drive 911 every day!

I've been keeping my old college car (92 Civic) around as a "just in case" car, but my 92 C2 has held up perfectly over the past 5 months of daily driving (20 mile low traffic commute=fun). I absolutely love having "the toy" (as my wife calls it)waiting for me in the parking garage every night. I can't believe the car is still this much fun to drive.

The Civic just sat in the garage, which also meant I was paying insurance on a car I didn't drive. Anyways, sold the car this weekend to a guy who bought it for his teenage daughter. I plan on setting aside the sales proceeds to pay for future maintenance on the C2.

This leaves me no choice but to drive a 911 every day. Life is tough.

I am in a similar boat. I bought an SC, with the intention of selling my Saturn. Anyone looking for a good '98 Saturn SL2? I'll cut you a deal.....

Ha! My girlfriend just gave me her old beater and I put the Targa in the garage! Now I get to show off in an 87 British Escort with rust holes everywhere, that has a fuel delivery problem and quits on the highway about 3 times every 17 miles. Ah well at least the baby, ("Ouch" second baby girlfriend just wailed me for saying that) is safe and warm.

I blew ALL my money on a brand-new 964 RS and could not afford a second car. Sometimes life is really tough! I have now done 125 000 miles in it and still have a big grin on my face every day! Who needs a second car anyway.

Man, youall make me wanna sell the truck and break out the car. Too bad 13.5" wide tires don't get better traction in the snow.

Yeah, and poor Stef has to drive on the Autobahn daily, too! What an awful life.

Speaking of putting the baby (my girlfriend hates that too) away for the winter, its kinda funny driving around in a Porsche all summer and then cracking out the beater ('87 Mazda MPV) for the winter and people looking at you and saying "loser" under their breath. (I need a bumper sticker that say "My Porsche is in the garage...") You'll drive by some good looking women (good thing the g/f doesn't read this) and you'll look at them in your Porsche and they smile from ear to ear... Wish I could day that about the mazda... summer's 'a commin'!!!! WOO HOO!!!

Adam - that is funny! I've had the same thing happen soooo many times. Girls yelling "nice ride!". Never hear a peep when driving the rusty truck (except for the 'rodder crowd). Kind of exposes them for what they really are doesn't it? HA!
